Breaking gaming news!
I recieved the latest email newsletter from Sony regarding Playstation 3 and PSP Vita and to cut to the news, basically Sony are doing a Nintendo and you will be able to connect your PSP Vita to PS3 Similar to how the Wii U control will connect to the Wii U but Sony's has the advantage of being an actual console and so more advanced in that you could play a 2-player game, you on your PSP Vita and someone on a PS3 and walk outside or anywhere hopefully and continue the game. So will this end the Wii U. Hopefully both will be successful!

Headlines you may never see, headlines you want to see, and headlines you never want to see.
Today's
Breaking Spoof News!
BBC 1 and ITV 1 have announced a merger! We know in these tough economic times, all kinds of alliances have been made, including Liberal democrats and Conservatives if you want but we never expected this. More soon.
Europe has collapsed! Details are yet to be announced but Europe has officialy collapsed with no funding or even willpower or desire from members to prop it back on it's feet. David cameron is spearheading urgent talks to start anew, as while many may of wished this none could surely of actually wanted it. All see the purpose of a Europe like force, even opponents like Iran and Afganistan. Now we have an oppurtunity to make a "new Europe" bolder and brave and invite more countries even outside of the "Eurozone." Perhaps Nations like Iran or China could even become a part of it..not one day..but today. As we do have the United nations but we all feel it's role has lessened slightly almost to the point of uselessness, promoting peace and making sure all nations comply yet China wasn't refused membership yet Forces some of it's people to have abortions (murder) their unborn children if they have too many children already. Although of course no-one would doubt the other important roles the UN has, like protecting children in war-torn areas, in conflicts and it's other charitable work. More soon. (That's more news on Europe, not more things The UN is good at, we finished those although we made out there were more.... ok maybe there are more. You know the drill. Email or comment please.)

Console Predictions
While Rumours of a Playstation 4 and a new Xbox have been surfacing and not surprising as we now know about the Wii U revealed at the last E3 earlier this year in I think June, I am not going to be spreading any rumours haha, but instead I've been thinking about what all of this means and maybe will make some predictions along the way...who knows.. lets start to find out.
Wii U
Nintendo have revealed their Wii U to be the successor to the Nintendo Wii (although in some ways to me it's more like Wii 1.5) so I'd imagine other companies will think about bringing out their own eighth generation console to compete. Although perhaps playstation 3 and Xbox 360 can hold their own against the Wii U? I'd actually imagine so. Their is still a big place for traditional gaming using controllers and the Wii isn't really a promoter of that. But I have heard and fear it may be slightly true that soon or even with the arrival of the Playstation 4, all games will be downloadable only so they won't be stored on physical discs. They did try this with the Psp Go, which didn't seem to do very well and I hope they learned their lesson. We want to buy games from shops! But nintendo as far as I am aware have no plans to scrap purchasing games in this way. Although all 3 main consoles have ways of downloading games, updates etc from their console and/or a shop of some kind which may suggest they are all preparing for the future and the next and final phase is to make all purchase of games done in this manner. Why do I think Nintendo will keep with physical media? I'm not sure really, just a feeling but have you noticed something? The Playstation 3 has smaller cases and consequently manuals than the Playstation 2 (although interestingly before that the playstation 1 had smaller cases than the PS2 so they actually got bigger before getting smaller, but perhaps that's because the playstation 1 was more around the time of CD's and their sized cases and the playstation 2 was of the DVD era and I might be wrong here but Ps2 discs were dvd related?) and I assume this was done by Sony to reduce packaging (under pressure from law, targets to meet etc perhaps) but also costs. Although Microsoft and Nintendo don't seem to be worrying about things like that.... (perhaps the PS3 cost Sony more than they let on...bankrupt Sony...now there's a thought you never thought you'd hear)
Sony's original PSP's of course used UMD's but they were a one of a kind never seen before type of media and also being for a portable console it's natural they would be slightly smaller and thinner although they are a nice size, thin but tall and room for a nice thick manual. (if you live in Europe the reason for the thickness is to accomadate about 300 different languages....now who says we ever discriminate?)
I fear, it may sound very silly but I really think the Wii U will either be a slight disaster or it will be...well not in the Guiness book of records for fastest selling console...but will do relatively well. Perhaps like the 3DS and I don't remember about the Wii but maybe true for that as well, it will take a while for people to actually take notice of it but once they do their sales gain momentum and the rest is history. As long as they don't make Sony's PS3 mistake which they made with the 3DS and sold their new hardware way too expensive. Sure you need to make profits but if no-one can afford it, especially if people are worse off these days, your not going to get any profits. Silly Nintendo. It all depends wether people want what Nintendo is giving, which is another great interactive console! But one that has unique innovative controls and I guess it depends on wether people are ready for that or want more of similar things as it probably will be quite like the Wii to play despite Nintendo wanting to grab "hardcore gamers", we know Nintendo has a reputation as a family friendly company and if I had the mobile number of the President of Nintendo I would tell him to stop trying to change their image...or they may end up with no reputation at all.
But for me, The Choice of Launch games and even perhaps their marketing although slightly less so, will determine the future and success not only of Wii U but of Nintendo itself. I will play all consoles, they all have a great uniqeness about them but I know many who are tied to certain consoles and even companies because of the images both of them have made for themselves or even others have made for them. (through the kinds of games they have which I was hinting about earlier and kind of developer support etc) But Nintendo seem in danger of ruining it all.... I read a statement from a Nintendo President, he might not be president any more but he basically said he realises Nintendo need to branch out to more hard core gamers. No! I said this before when Sony went out and brung out the Playstation Move and Xbox 360 gained the Kinect. (ok they adapted well, I'll give them that, they upgraded their systems to compete with the Wii instead of bringing out a new console and the Kinect and Move do look good but in terms of strategy it's a terrible move) By Nintendo trying to appeal to more gamers.... ok it may sound good..more money..more profits...but no! Nintendo made their image and i'm not sure if they can ever change that but even if they can they'll have to wait till the Wii U to do so. Nintendo are known as the family company and should stick with that, not just because it's a big market but because it's their uniqeness and says exactly what they do best. Halo on the wii? Mario on Playstation 3? Come on. I'm not saying both consoles aren't capable of keeping those games true...well no actually I am. Would we jump up and down in joy if we saw Mario in HD with beautiful, breathtaking, more real than reality water rippling beneath his feet? (and AGAIN, i'm not saying Wii isn't capable of great things, it is) Would we be enthusiastic if a Halo style game was on the Nintendo Wii. Yes and no I guess is my real answer and it's fine if Nintendo want to make some different games or have support from different developers but I am afraid they may do more than that...in a bad way. (Has anyone noticed the classic Dragonball Z setup which defines what I was saying? Dragonball Z games, beat 'em up style (with the exception of dragonball Z budokai Tenkaichi 1/2/3) always appear on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 BUT the adventure style games, like Dragonball: Revenge of King Piccolo and Battle card games like Dragonball Z: Goku Densetsu appear on The Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS) Because that is what they are best at! Play to your strengths and yes in time work on your weakness's if you want to but surely there's enough to be getting on with at the moment. As in the case with Dragonball Z games which are multi-platform we get to experience all kinds of games depending on the console it is on and so we can with all games. So on a similar note, while it seems Video game console developers are trying to give appeal to us with everything they can think of or we can think of, it might not be long until we are actually getting less choice and games even start to look identical, and the consoles that play them do as well and thus no uniqueness anywhere. I hope I am wrong.
Playstation 4
Well it seens a new playstation won't be coming any time soon (can you believe playstation 3 has been out for so many years?!) but you never know. Perhaps they are bluffing and have already finished many prototypes. Maybe they even have warehouses full of consoles all ready to be shipped, lined up like some elite army ready to take on the threat of the Wii U which is set to invade most countries in late 2012. Or perhaps Sony do have consoles ready or concrete plans for one ready but will not act until they see the damage or lack of damage Wii U does to their PS3. Which while may not be true it would make sense. Think about. If you made plans for a console but didn't actually make them, you've not paid anyone to make it yet but you have a design if you really need to and thus you can also adapt/modify that design as you see fit, even steal some ideas of Nintendo's new console if you fancy it.
Xbox 720.
Well at CES Microsoft were keen to say the future of xbox........is Xbox 360! They even had some oh so staged demonstrations of a young girl they roped in and probably didn't even pay, playing with Elmo and friends, showing how certain shows can come into your living room or you can even go into their world. Like you can throw things at Elmo.... Yes....Amazing technology..... No seriously, I'm sure it's fun for children or other people but I did think of a problem. Obviously shows would need to be specially made to be compatible with the interactive features and will vary by show but I listened to the woman with the girl and she made me think of a flaw. She was hinting at the young girl to throw something at Elmo who would catch it on screen. NEEDLESS TO SAY. YOU DO NOT PICK UP ANYTHING! YOU PRETEND TO THROW! Lol I just wanted to stress that point in case people started picking up fruit and throwing it at their T.V. screens hoping it would somehow be absorbed and land majestically in Elmo's beloved Fruit Bowl. (Now that would be awesome technology. Expensive but awesome) So the girl lifted her hands and made a throwing motion and sure enough Elmo caught it. But then the slightly attractive woman said something like "Are you tired? Let's take a break". And so they sat down. Ok your still not getting it are you? Well then after a break they continued. Because they were prompted! Aha! Yep it seems Elmo and friends had been at the Coca-Cola again and wanted the girl to play which nicely brings me to my flaw. You don't get to choose when you stop playing and when you continue, it's all as staged as the whole CES show (who said that). So while it is a good idea, shows need to be designed better (maybe you can pause but they never demonstrated that and I would of thought they would of made a point as they were discussing everthing apart from how shiny a new Xbox is.) because I wondered if that poor girl was getting worn out, I'm sure she has loads of energy..but do you have to see the show through to the end? Ok you can exit the show i'm not denying that but the point is the show was made for a reason, yes it's an interactive show but during the "pauses" it's supposed to become a regular show. So I think this is the danger of mixing interactive elements with shows..aren't shows to watch? I do welcome the idea..but you have to be very careful with it and many adults will just want to watch a show meaning this will be aimed at children more. They could have a feature where you say how interactive you want the show to be, (developers creating different "levels") e.g. one where your jumping up and down nonstop to Elmo and only have a long enough pause to quickly tie your shoelaces, one where you run rampant and then sit down watching funny stuff for 10 minutes and one where you throw random things at Elmo before going back to the sofa every 4 minutes. It is a good idea, and could help keep children and adults together having fun and even keeping fit although not as important has having fun of course and theres nothing better than the great outdoors, but I do think it has it's uses...just a little more thinking on it first please Microsoft and related developers.

Hi. I'm back and I did say I would review individual anime's and I will do that as well still but today I'm going to show you my favourites which I hope you enjoy. Please comment.
The 2 Greatest Anime's of our time or any time (and of cartoons overall) have to be ...wait for it.
Pokemon and Dragonball Z. Now there are a lot of different anime's out there with all kinds of stories and teachings but none are more satisfying or thought provoking than these 2. These being the best examples of cartoons that promote teamwork, (and Strength of individual as well, without appearing to contradict themselves, perhaps saying that either can be accomplished if there's the desire/need and both should be) morals, values, inner Strength and courage, determination (often in Shonen Manga Which Dragonball Manga was) and more.
Pokemon
At the beginning of Pokemon we were thrown into the Pokemon world. We watched T.V. with a young boy who turns out to be called Ash and saw our first Pokemon battle. Proffessor Oak appears to give Ash his first ever pokemon. So we see this young boy at the age of 11, had been due to start his very own journey which we all would love to of joined him on, and watch as he grows along the way and making many friends as he goes. But as Ash was late, one of the 3 Pokemon meant for him had all run out but it seems hinted out it was always meant for him to be with young Pikachu, who Proffessor Oak reluctantly gives to Ash to train and befriend, as Pikachu was very untrusting and reluctant to obey Ash. People here might like to point out this is a flaw in Pokemon, trying to force Pokemon to go along with them and live with them and for them. But it's not too far into the story when Ash asks Pikachu if he wants to leave and to be free and at one point he does but later returns. Ok, you can say if it was real life it wouldn't be "written" for Pikachu to come back but the point is it was shown that Ash was willing to give Pikachu the choice even if it would upset him to part with his friend, he wanted what was best for him and thus there is no confusion about the morals in Pokemon. (The only confusion that exists is what goes on inside the Pokeballs!)
Quotes:
(Mewtwo to Giovanni in Pokemon The first Movie.")
One of the most important things said.
"The human sacrificed himself, to save the Pokemon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences did I see the true power they all share deep inside. I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."
"Humans may have created me, but they will never enslave me! This cannot be my destiny!"

Dragonball
The quest for the Dragonball's was one that took us and Goku and his friends all over the world and even to other planets at times. Goku the main character, driven by innocence and a desire to protect everyone around him never knew much about Dragonball's until a young girl called Bulma bumped into him...which turned into the start of a very long journey. With each new villain to arrive, hero's felt increasingly challenged and thus the pressure was on for them to reach deeper and further to find inner strength and determination to defeat their foes but ultimately, failure or success always depended on their motives. Goku and later Vegeta's was about protecting Earth's inhabitants and thus no matter how powerful enemies were, they always got back up again to fight especially Goku which would give Vegeta another reason to carry on and push himself further, seeing Goku always carrying on, always one step ahead, it drove Vegeta to new heights, to defeat Kakarott, to better him, although later it became a more friendly desire to test one another's strengths. Whereas Goku is driven by innocence and courage as said before, he can be a little niave at times but reinstates the innocent character he is supposed to have always believing the best in people and refusing to see any bad not because he is stupid, but innocent. The difference might be difficult to tell at times, but if your watching it shouldn't be too hard to understand. The basic underlying difference is innocence is innocence, meaning stupidity can come about from all kinds of things, arrogance can be one of them, whereas innocent people really are innocent, whatever it is they believe..they believe it to be true.
Quotes;
(Goku to Goku Junior in the "Dragonball GT: Path to power" Movie.)
"It wasn't the Dragonball that did it. It was your courage and love that opened the right doors."
"Stay pure. That's your armour"
While those two above quotes come from the Dragonball GT anime that isn't based on any original story, Goku is correctly depicted as the innocent, peace loving character he is and so is true to his original design which is why I chose those two quotes, having stuck in my mind. Oh ok, and I also happened to of just watched the movie before starting to write this but there are loads of quotes I could of mentioned.
A Quick Summary of both. Mewtwo like Vegeta goes through a period of change which is told beautifully and gives even more depth to both stories they come from. Vegeta and Mewtwo could perhaps be compared again for similarities in life, Vegeta feeling "owned" by Frieza, living a limited life of fighting and destruction which is his choice but it's the only life he knows and the same could be said for Mewtwo and the earlier bit as well, feeling "indebted", in Mewtwo's case it would be maybe feeling indebted to Giovanni the shadowy gang leader of Team Rocket although maybe more because he doesn't know his way around this world or what there is for him and put his trust in Giovanni who abused that trust immediately and thus Mewtwo realised he didn't need Giovanni or any human he thought believing them all to be the same. Which is like Vegeta as well in that these types of characters never are or were "villains" but the soon to be hero's in later episodes once the story gives you their background and an understanding of why they do the things they do, given that (Goku learning about Vegeta and the sayains history and Ash and friends Learning about Mewtwo's birth) the hero's of the stories learn what we have learned and show a softer side to these characters and realise their approach was wrong and the real villains are out...out in the stars still...... Also Mewtwo may of somehow felt he owed the entire human race somehow and is why he felt inferior to them, a "mere clone", not an original but a copy. Yet he may of had copied D.N.A. but as is apparent from the beginning, Mewtwo is a unique individual all the same and goes on to deliver one of the most important lessons ever said in an Anime, at the end of the movie. And that's probably another similarity, how these former "rogues" often go to become some of the biggest "preachers" of all that they used to despise so much and could also be said to indicate that they were simply teaching the wrong thing before but once that is solved they apply the same amount of strength they used to use for evil as they do for good... What's also interesting is how in reality we are disturbingly getting closer and closer to cloning whole humans. And while that would be wrong, we must be careful with how we treated any clone we pass in the street one day if we ever agreed with what Mewtwo said. We can be against cloning, against making clones. BUT if a clone is created, a human clone, we must treat them the same as any other human, animal, or any other creature, for their are living and our anger must be at scientists, governments etc and not at the innocent clone. Much like the great X-men moral of treating all "Mutants" the same as humans which again can easily be applied to real life because what it really means is treating anyone, regardless of a disability, difference, age, race, gender etc the same. So perhaps not too far from now, we will need to think of Proffessor Xavier, Vegeta and Mewtwo's morals a lot more than we already did.
I will hopefully go into detail on both of those more at some other point and list more anime's and Manga but I just wanted to give you an idea of some thoughts and post this. Thankyou for reading!! All the best.
Barry.

Hi, just reading through my old posts something else came to mind which I may of missed before or probably did think but just didn't write on here.
It was the above quote which stirred me;
"The human sacrificed himself, to save the Pokemon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences did I see the true power they all share deep inside. I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."
That's what Mewtwo said, but more particularly this bit: " I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."
Vegeta, just like Mewtwo had "Birth rights issues". Something most of us can relate to finding ourselves in life but differently for these two and even though Mewtwo perhaps is contrasting to Vegeta as he didn't feel important at all whereas Vegeta expected everyone to bow to him as he was a Prince. But Mewtwo did feel the world owed him at first perhaps like Vegeta did and so Mewtwo was drawn to act similarly to Mewtwo though interestingly through the exact opposite circumstances to Vegeta, having had a bad birth and feeling unwanted, Vegeta although some of that could be said too, had a better birth but later tried to force people to respect him like Mewtwo and both wiped out those who were deemed "Inferior". As in other words, both had insecurities but learned in time ones birth is irrelevant and you have to fight to make your name stand tall, to become a king or a prince show the world why. No-one will look up at the sound of a name they have never heard,
The 2 Greatest Anime's of our time or any time (and of cartoons overall) have to be ...wait for it.

Quotes;
Barry.

For fun but also maybe for prizes, and to help people get access/become aware of other peoples blogs... Yes ok promote, but I didn't want it to sound business like, completly informal I meant wether your blog is for business or not. You could play at home with people or online or combine the too...somehow (ask Soundwave, tuesdays only). So let me know what you think of that please. And for custom made Ego's, please visit ww.our-realm.co.uk
Please note. No Ego's of any kind are up for sale on the referenced URL stated above and nor have there ever been plans and nor will there ever be plans to sell any in any way, wether digitally or non digitally. Thankyou for appearing confused.
Miss Havisham.
(Didn't write this. I just felt like mentioning her as does a certain other blogger whose blog immediately gives you food to chew on as it's pink background gives you an impression of the theme of the blog and also personality of the author)

Hi I just wanted to recommend a website. I stumbled upon it actually through Wikipedia when I was researching something, lke I do reguarly. It's called www.archive.org and basically it's a website that has been setup to record websites and you can submit your own or others as well I think although I haven't seen how to yet so please let me know if you find out. For example, I typed in Ebay.co.uk and it had various screenshots from 1990's to recent days and you can see how much websites have changed throught the years, a lot having major graphical updates. There's loads of other uses as well of course and if your ever doing a project for fun or for anything and it's about the internet you will surely find this website a very useful tool. Thankyou!
